Prehistoric Mammals Smilodon From Schleich. Article size: 5.0" L x 2.0" H x 0.75" W. The name Smilodon meant "Knife Tooth", this was best known of the Sabre Tooth cats, the teeth measured 7" long and were used more for stabbing that slashing their prey as they were not very strong teeth, but they are cousins to the modern cats now! They mainly lived in the woodlands of North & South America, often living in groups. They mainly preyed on a variety of game such as bison, elk, deer and mammoths which was quite a variety.
