The American Science Fiction phenomenon, Star Trek captured audiences with its complex storylines and originality. It boasts a collection of 11 feature films, a TV show running for 6 series, hundreds of novels, as well as having its own themed attraction in Las Vegas, America. It also has a cult following with many fans even taking time to learn the Klingon language!
After Star Trek Enterprise, a prequel to all other Star Trek series, was cancelled in 2005, the Star Trek franchise found itself without a film or series in development for the first time in over 25 years. Then, in April 2006, an official announcement of an eleventh feature film made it apparent that the franchise is far from finished and in 2009 another film was released.
Choose between these fabulous collectible figures of your favourite characters from the shows including the regular crew of the USS Enterprise (in the original version) - Captain Kirk, commanding officer famously played by William Shatner, then we have Dr Spock played by Leonard Nimoy who had quite a few roles however was well known as being a Science Officer. Next comes Leonard McCoy – also known as Bones who was Chief Medical Officer, and Hikaru Sulu was the Helm Officer and was played by George Takei in the first series and then by John Cho in the later film. Scotty or to give him his full title Montgomery Scott was the Chief Engineer (as in beam me up Scotty!), and Pavel Chekov was the navigator. Nyota Uhura was the female in charge of communications. As well as being in the original series these characters also featured in the 2009 version of the film, plus Christopher Pike who was actually dropped from the first pilot series but made a reappearance in the 2009 film. Captain Nero also comes in for this film.
The figures are available in two sizes, a basic size of 6” and a smaller size of 3” in the mini collection. Bound to be real collector’s pieces for the future. To end with a quote from the original series – we are sure you will remember hearing this as the titles rolled at the start of each show. ‘Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the star ship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.’
