Endurance racing is on of the toughest types of motor-sport. Racing can last between 6 to 24 hours depending on the race. Some are measured on running distance, 1000 kilometres is a common length.
Drivers often work in teams of three, where they share the competing car. When the car comes in to pit the drivers would change, often coming back to the race several times before the race is over.

A popular endurance race is the Le Mans 24 Hours. First raced in 1923 it still remains one of the most key races and circuits in history. One of the most successful drivers is Tom Kristensen who is the only person to have won this race eight times, six of these were in consecutive years.
The endurance collection from Scalextric contains some of the sleekest designed cars in history. Take the Peugeot 908 HDi for example; it is created specifically for high speeds and long races. The car is a sports prototype built by the French manufacturer to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. From its debut in 2007 until 2010 it had won 19 out of the 28 races it had competed in.
These cars are finished to great detail, and are fantastic cars to drive and add to your collection.
