As with the coach stock, the Hornby Wagon selection has something to offer for the majority of periods, regions and goods. There are coal wagons carrying the names of the private owners who were either owned or contracted to the pit owners to take coal from the mines to the coal merchants before nationalisation.
After that the Liveries of the wagons became more austere and plain. As time progressed the rather plain coal wagons were gradually replaced by the more sophisticated wagons of which Hornby has delivered with superb detail.
