Corgi and Colin McRae Motorsport have come together to bring you ‘The Tribute Collection’, a series of special edition 1:43 scale die cast models that show off some of the greatest cars in rally history.
Colin McRae was one of the greatest rally drivers of all times. His flamboyant and unique driving style earned him the World Championship title in 1995 as well as many other rally victories. He was awarded an MBE in 1996 for his services to motorsport and is still to this day recognised as one of the most influential drivers from British motorsport.
The models are finished to the highest of standards, with fantastic interior and livery detail that gives great credit to the original cars. Colin started his career at an early age by competing in trial bike competitions but at the age of sixteen he traded in his bike for a Mini Cooper, the first model in the collection. The Talbot Sunbeam is the car in which Colin first entered the Scottish Rally Championship and in which he began to become known. The first world rally event that Colin McRae entered was the Swedish rally in 1987 in his Vauxhall Nova. The 1990 Sierra Cosworth represents the car in which Colin achieved a sixth place in the RAC Rally. This collection was developed as a lasting memorial to Colin McRae who sadly passed away in September 2007 |
