If your wooden railway now seems a little simple for your child then don’t worry!
Brio has invented the interactive railway system so now your old wooden railway doesn’t get left behind. ‘Smart Track’ is the effect of a remote control railway, but instead of having a remote control you have different pieces of track to put where ever you like. Each piece of track has a chip in it that sends a signal to the engine telling it to: stop, start or change direction (backwards/forwards). It can instruct it to make sounds too, such as braking and if you pull up in a smart track station it can give the illusion of a busy station. By sending a signal to the engine to make the noises, each noise the train makes is geared to sound as realistic as possible so your child can appreciate their railway for longer.
It gives them a chance to really use their imagination, they can think where the train might need to stop. Maybe the train needs to stop at a farm to drop some animals off. Or maybe the train should sounds it's horn as it approaches the level crossing just so everyone knows itis on its way!
The best thing about smart track is, it’s totally compatible with the original track, the only thing you need is a compatible engine which comes pre-programmed so it can receive the signals that the smart track gives out.
