Revell Aircrafts - Arado Ar234 B-2n Nachtgall - The Arado Ar 234 'Blitz' (Lightning) was the world's first jet-powered bomber. The first flight of the reconnaissance version, the Ar 234 B-1, took place at the end of 1943 and the first bombing sorties followed in 1944. The bomber version, the Ar 234 B-2, was introduced at the beginning of 1945 but the bombs were carried externally which reduced the aircraft's speed. Although it did not fly often as a result of fuel shortages, the aircraft proved itself during sorties with an autopilot, control unit and on-boardbomb targeting computer because it was almost impossible to intercept. This was also one of the first aircraft to be fitted with an ejector seat.
