Revell Aircrafts - F-86 D Sabre - In 1945 the USAAF decided to radically modify the prototype XP-86. It was fitted with swept wings and used the same airfoil section as the Me 262. This prototype made its maiden flight in October 1947. In April 1948 it broke the sound barrier for the first time.
