Revell Military Vehicles - M60 A1 - As a response to the USSR's newly developed medium T-54 battle tank with its 100 mm gun, the armament of the M48 was substantially upgraded. Equipped with a new engine and a British 105 mm maingun, production of this new tank started in 1959. In order to improve its handling characteristics, the M60 A1 was fitted with new, lighter track rollers manufactured of aluminium and hydraulic shock absorbers in addition. The turret was shifted rearwards which created a relatively large interior space and the armour plating was reinforced by 9 tons.
