Revell Military Vehicles - BTR-70 / SPW-70 (NVA) - With the BTR-70 (East German army designation: armoured infantry vehicle SPW-70) the mechanized infantry units (armoured infantry) have a fast all-terrain vehicle equipped with a high dismount capability and good armament. It takes the mechanized infantry close to the enemy in safety and they can then dismount through a hatch between the 2nd and 3rd wheels or fire at external targets through firing ports. The BTR-70 was widely distributed in the Soviet Union and its successor states and from 1979 onwards the East German army received 1266 vehicles of this type.
