If you haven’t made models before but fancy having a go then this item is a perfect place to start, especially so if your granddad was in the RAF during the war. Once this model is finished it will make a perfect gift for him. There are 2 models in this gift set, one is the Bristol Beaufighter TF.X and the other is the Messerschmitt Bf109G.
The Bristol Beaufighter took part in every major campaign of World War 2. It was a long- range heavy fighter and saw action first of all as a night fighter then as a fighter- bomber and torpedo bomber. It played an important part in defeating the Luftwaffe’s night blitz of 1940-41. Well known for its unusually quiet engine it was known by the Japanese as “Whispering death”
The Messerschmitt was a fighter in the early part of World War 2 in Europe until it was partially replaced by the Focke Wulf. It continued to see action on the Eastern Front and with Rommels Afrika Corps.
The Messerschmitt is credited with destroying more enemy aircraft that any other German fighter. It remained in service for many years after the end of the war.
If this set has sparked your interest then you have chosen well. In the box you will find everything that you need to complete both of these model aircraft including brushes, paint and glue and a display stand.
