BBMF Dakota C47 "Berlin Airlift" Gift Set by Airfix from £21.99
Following the Soviet Unions decision to put pressure on the western Allies, shipments of goods by rails and the autobahn came to a halt. A desperate Berlin looked to the West for help. Surviving a normally harsh German winter, the airlift carried over two million tonnes of supplies in 270,000 flights. The blockade was finally lifted on amy 12th 1949.
