Artega GT by Revell from £24.99
The Artega GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 2007. Since 2003, the CEO of the firm, Klaus-Dieter Frers, had been toying with the idea of building a light, high-performance sports car with an exciting shape that would be suitable for every day use. In 2006 Henrik Fisk was commissioned to produce the design. The aerodynamics would be determined in the wind tunnel, the engine and transmission would be supplied by VW, the rest would be made by Artega. It was deliberate that the compact car should be clearly distinguished from both exotic and mass-produced vehicles, with the emphasis on ordinariness. Consequently, for a vehicle in this class, the car offers an unusually generous amount of luggage and stowage space. Thanks to its essentially light structure and powerful engine (3.6 litre and 300 bhp at 6,600 rpm) this really low, wide and compact sports car achieves a noteworthy performance: the Artega GT accelerates from 0 to 100 in less than 5 seconds and has a maximum speed of 270 km/h. Carbon-fibre-reinforced composites also give it remarkable torsional resistance. Active control systems for the driving dynamics and an effective crash module provide extra safety for the passengers.
