A Heroes History of the Victorians
This book is about a period of history when Britain was the largest superpower in the world. It had the greatest empire, covering one fifth of the globe and contained a quarter of the world's population. It was protected by the largest navy, produced more iron and steel than any other country and led the world technologically with its steam engines.
When Victoria died in 1901 she was much loved and admired. She will always be remembered as one of the greatest British monarchs and as the woman who gave her name to her subjects, the Victorians.
