1000 Rallye 2 'H.Schotter'

In 1972 the Société Industrielle de Mécanique et Carrosserie Automobile (SIMCA) launched the Simca 1000 Rallye 2. This light car, with its modern silhouette, powerful engine and tremendous corning speeds, was predestined for motor sport. The original vehicle with chassis number TP9-700-74059 weighing 700 kg had a 136 bhp 1150 cc four-cylinder engine. In the period from 1972 to 1978, during which the Simca was driven by Karl-Heinz Schötter, it won numerous races. In the 1978 season alone it took first place 14 times and second 5 times in 26 events; it was runner-up in the Hessian mountain championship and took the title in the European mountain championship in the former USSR.
