Tudor Plate Diameter 8 1/2" (21.5cm). The Tudor Plate is based on the original dated late 18th Century, earthenware, glazed pale cream, this is commonly described as Creamware, Pearlware, Leedsware, China Glaze or even Salt Glaze. The Tudor Plate is circular, moulded in the centre with a large rose design, a feather border and a pattern of openwork to outer rim. Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool and usually known as pierced ware.
