Semi ovoid, on a high moulded foot; the upper part of the cup is pierced with a band of openwork. Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool and usually known as pierced ware.
