The Strawberry Dish is based on the original dated late 18th Century, earthenware, glazed pale cream, this is commonly described as Creamware, Pearlware, Leedsware, China Glaze or even Salt Glaze.
The Strawberry Dish is oval, four lobed on a high foot, the shaped rims are moulded with ribbed borders and foliage and peirced with panels of openwork. Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool and usually known as pierced ware.
