Small Handled Basket Length 3" (8cm)
The Small Handled Basket is based on the original Hartley Greens pattern book, earthenware, and glazed pale cream, this is commonly described as Creamware, Pearlware, Leedsware, China Glaze or even Salt Glaze. The Small Handled Basket has a moulded handle and is pierced with a row of openwork to its upper rim.
Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool.
