The Small Dessert Plate is based on the original dated late 18th Century, earthenware, glazed pale cream, this is commonly described as Creamware, Pearlware, Leedsware, China Glaze or even Salt Glaze.
The Small Dessert Plate hexagonal with moulded scroll edges, the rims moulded with festoons of husks suspended from leaves between panels of openwork pattern.
Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool and usually known as pierced ware.
