The Small Decorated Spices Plate with a pattern of openwork to outer rim with a moulded bead border, the wall of the central recess is fluted. The plate is hand painted, signed by the artist and glazed with a Mustard design to its central recess.
Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool and usually known as pierced ware.
