The art of plate decoration requires a lot more skill than would be first considered the sharpness of the image and the colour match being a major problem during production with the picture often becoming blurred or the colours totally changing during kiln firing. Many a piece that needed hours of work to produce finishing up in the scrap bin.
The printed range of pierced plates has now been replaced by the much finer hand painted versions, printed plates will remain on sale until stocks are exhausted.
