Description:The Leeds Pottery pierced Teapot is cylindrical with a concave neck it has a double intertwined cord handle with flower and fruit and leaf terminals, the curved spout has similar terminals applied around the base. The lid which is pierced has a flower handle with flower and leaf terminals. The pot is double walled with the outer wall being pierced with an openwork pattern and moulded cable borders.Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool and usually known as pierced ware.
