The Soup Dish is based on the original Hartley Greens pattern book, earthenware, glazed pale cream, this is commonly described as Creamware, Pearlware, Leedsware, China Glaze or even Salt Glaze.
The Soup Dish with a pattern of openwork to outer rim with a ribbed border and a fluted bowl.
Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool and usually known as pierced ware.
