The Pierced Lattice Basket is oval moulded with pierced openwork to form a basketwork effect; the lid has a knob in the form of a fruit with leaf terminals. The Pierced Lattice Plate is oval moulded with pierced openwork to form a basketwork effect.
Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool and usually known as pierced ware.
