Leeds Pottery- Pierced Flower Basket Pierced Flower Basket Length 5" (13cm)

The Pierced Flower Basket is based on the original Hartley Greens pattern book, earthenware, and glazed pale cream, this is commonly described as Creamware, Pearlware, Leedsware, China Glaze or even Salt Glaze. The Pierced Flower Basket is oval with a spreading foot it has slight twist in its moulded handle, the body shaped as an open petal is pierced back and front with a pattern of openwork.

Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool.
