The Candle Burner is based on the original Hartley Greens pattern book, earthenware, and glazed pale cream, this is commonly described as Creamware, Pearlware, Leedsware, China Glaze or even Salt Glaze. The Candle Burner is cylindrical with an open top and pierced around the body with a pattern of openwork.
Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool.
