The stamp act required that printed materials be produced on franked paper produced in London and carrying the revenue stamp. The documents requiring payment were legal documents, magazines and newspapers etc. The Stamp Act was bitterly opposed by the colonies and led to groups being formed to fight the tax- Height 5" (13cm)
