Leeds Pottery- Ink Well Description:The centre section holds, a sand box, an inkpot for three pens and a wafer-box. Known as pierced ware the process is where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool while in the clay stage.

The Ink Well is based on the original dated late 18th Century, earthenware, and glazed pale cream.The Ink Well is rectangular standing on four low feet the sides are shaped and pierced on each side with a pattern of openwork.
