Description:There are 2 different groups of Terns. The first type is the ‘sea’ tern and the ‘marsh’ tern. The sea tern is grey and white all over, except for a black cap in summer. They have long tail streamers, and dive to catch fish, whereas the marsh terns are blunt tailed, and almost black underneath in summer. These birds do not dive for their food. They swoop down and pick insects from the surface. They do migrate for winter months, so will only be seen in Europe in summer.
As with the other Flying birds mugs, this mug uses Matthew Rice’s beautiful drawings, which are complimented by the stunning blue skies that surround them. The mug holds 0.3 Litres and is 9cm tall. If you don’t want to use this mug, it would be a lovely display piece.
