Leeds Pottery- Chocolate Kettle Stand only Diameter 8 1/4" (21cm) Height 5" O/A (12.5cm)

The stand based on the original dated late 18th Century, earthenware, glazed pale cream, this is commonly described as Creamware, Pearlware, Leedsware, China Glaze or even Salt Glaze.

The bowl shaped stand which rests on three lion masks and paw feet and provided with three shell and three foliate projections on the rim to support the kettle, the sides with panels of openwork pattern.

Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool and usually known as pierced ware.
