Description:The Latest Addition To Hartley Greens The Wedding Bowl. Hartley Greens' range of traditional Leedsware has been enhanced by the result of a chance discovery of a piece with a past royal connection.The team at the Stoke-on-Trent pottery were experimenting with designs for the piercing for a classically shaped but unidentified fruit bowl discovered amongst the company archive collection of master moulds. By coincidence at that time saw the publication of an important new book by John D Griffin, The Leeds Pottery 1770-1881, two handsome volumes containing photographs of most of the known marked pieces of historic Leedsware. Staff investigating the book spotted the bowl they were working on along with a an exciting caption. It seemed the bowl had also been created as a wedding gift in 1934 for the then Duke of Kent.
