Description:The Leeds Pottery Ladle is available in both pierced and plain designs.The Pierced Ladle bowl is pierced with a pattern of openwork the curved handle is moulded with a shell pattern on the handle. Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of shaped holes, each of which is cut out individually with a simple metal tool whilst still in the clay stage before firing.The Plain Ladle bowl is non-pierced the curved handle is finished with a moulded shell pattern the ladle is used with other pieces where straining or sprinkling is not required
