Fruit Basket Length 8" (20cm) Complimented with a Fruit Basket Plate 03304 Length 9 1/2" (24cm)
The Fruit Basket is based on the original dated late 18th Century, earthenware, glazed pale cream, this is commonly described as Creamware, Pearlware, Leedsware, China Glaze or even Salt Glaze.
Four lobed with shaped rim moulded with shells, foliage and scrollwork, the flared faceted sides moulded with festoons of flowers, pierced with panels of openwork, with foliate handles and flower terminals. The Fruit Basket Plate shaped for the Fruit Basket the rim moulded with shells, foliage and scrollwork with panels of openwork pattern.
Openwork is the process where patterns are formed of oval diamond, heart shaped or other shaped holes, each of which is individually cut out with a simple metal tool and usually known as pierced ware.
