Cranberry Juice: The juice of the Cranberry, a native North American wetland fruit, is widely believed to be a remedy for urinary tract infections. Research into Cranberry published by the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that a large tumbler full of cranberry juice taken daily will halve the chance of having bacteria in the urine, its main benefit is to reduce the likelihood of suffering heavy infections. Cranberry juice contains chemicals, which inhibit the activity of E. coli - the bacteria most often responsible for cystitis. The chemicals, called condensed tannins or proanthocyanidins, do this by stopping the bacteria from sticking to mucosal surfaces - the surfaces, which line the bladder and bowel. They may have this effect on other bacteria too. This helps to clear bacteria from the urinary tract. Recent research suggests this may be the most important effect of cranberry juice. Up to 60% of women have a urinary tract infection at some point in their life. This high figure is related to the size and length of the female urethra (only two inches long and straight), which makes bacterial infections more likely. It is not always possible to include cranberry juice in the daily diet and most juices on the market also contain large amounts of sugar; so capsules, double strength tablets and sugar free drink mix from Power Health, made with concentrated juice extract, provide a simple, no-fuss alternative.
Rutivite- Poor or damaged capillary circulation
Green Buckwheat is a plant grown primarily for its seeds, which are used for animal and human food. It contains high, naturally occurring levels of a substance called Rutin, which is a flavonoid. Research has shown that Rutin in the commercially available form of Rutivite, helps blood vessels to become more flexible and stimulates blood flow, thereby helping to overcome the health problems associated with poor or damaged capillary circulation. Taking rutin in the form of Rutivite tablets or Green Buckwheat Tea provides natural therapy for a variety of circulatory problems. These include varicose veins, purpura, hypertension, retinal haemorrhage and chilblains.
Fighting cholesterol with Phytosterols
