Blue Ball

BLUE BALL. Newbiggin.
The property dates from the 16th Century. It was an old cruckhouse with a thatched roof. Whether it was an Inn in its early days or just a farmhouse is unknown. It may have been Harrison's Folly recorded in 1705 but it cannot be confirmed. It was named the Blue Ball in 1823.
