1.The Constitution for Business In Action was agreed by the members present at the meeting subject to a final draft being circulated.
2. Members were given details of meeting held at Ambiente on Wed 13th Feb at
which several promotional ideas were discussed. Zoe Plummer of Ambiente outlined
plans for forthcoming events including developing Malton as a Fair Trade town:
The possibility of a Car Rally event and renting a shop window from the
Estate for a display of visitor information. (Also for further discussion at the
next meeting on Wed 9th April)
Fixing a date for the Celebrate Malton Weekend -
possibly Sat 28th June. This would not clash with Malton Show which is Sunday
20th July.
It was also agreed to find out if the Malton Motor Show would be
taking place this year.
Zoe Plummer and Tim Sinclair are arranging to take
Councillor Keith Knaggs Shopping in Malton to prove the benefits of shopping
locally and highlight the great choice of individual shops in Malton.
3. Big Yellow Friday

success with plenty of positive publicity for the town.
4. Malton Strategy Plan.
Business in Action are pleased that there will be further consultations.
Members present formally asked Denys Townsend to attend the Strategy Meetings on
behalf of Business In Action, which despite a heavy schedule he graciously
agreed to do. Members also agreed unanimously that Business In Action would
support efforts to keep the Livestock Market within Malton. (This support has since been noted in the local press).

was navigated by Malcolm Chalk and Denys Townsend who are working hard to
produce a definitive version which is acceptable to all parties.
