Vitamin C is an incredible natural anti-viral agent and research has shown that vitamin C supplements can ease the symptoms of colds and flu as viruses cannot survive in a bloodstream saturated with vitamin C. Maitake's main functions are activating the immune system and acting as an anti-tumor agent. Maitake is known as an adaptogenic and tonic, and as such it aids healthy people to keep their levels of blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, and weight normal.
Wintervits® are specially formulated using Maitake mushroom, also known as the ‘dancing mushroom’; this has the unique properties, to help maintain a healthy immune system, wellness and vitality similar to Astragalus and Propolis. Also added are Vitamin C and Zinc to help maintain strong connective tissue, healthy blood vessels and body cells. This combination works synergistically to help provide prolonged support during the winter months when the immune system is not always at its best.
This unique combination of Vitamin C, Zinc, Maitake, Astragalus and Propolis offer an all round defence system throughout the year and especially during the winter months to enable the individual ingredients build up the white blood cells in the body thus making the immune system stronger and more resistant to infections.
Other ingredients include:
- White Willow Bark - a natural pain reliever and fever-lowering herb that also relieves symptoms of headache influenza and chills. White willow has been known as a natural version of aspirin.
- Quercetin - acts as an antihistamine and has anti-inflammatory activity. As an antioxidant, it protects LDL cholesterol (the “bad” cholesterol) from becoming damaged and minimising free radical activity.
- Rutin - a flavonoid, which is necessary for proper function and absorption of vitamin C. This will help build resistance to infections in the body, including the ears.
