Omega 3,6,9 capsules contain a high concentration of Omega 3, 6 and Omega 9 fatty acids. Each 500mg capsule contains 70mg EPA & 50mg DHA (Omega 3) from a low odour fish oil concentrate and 55mg GLA (Omega 6) from concentrated borage oil, together with 5.5mg of Omega 9. These fatty acids are in their naturally occurring triglyceride forms, which can be readily used by the body. Both Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids have been shown to be essential for a range of functions related to the nervous, immune and cardiovascular systems, inflammatory response and the skin amongst others.

The Omega 6 fatty acid GLA is often recommended as a dietary supplement for skin conditions and menstrual disorders. Omega 9 fatty acids are not considered to be essential, in that the body can synthesise them from other fats. However, they still play an important role in the body. For example, the Omega 9 fatty acid - ervonic acid, is a vital constituent of nerve cells and critical to brain function. Organisations such as ARC (Arthritis Research Campaign) recommend that arthritis sufferers try taking more essential fatty acids from fish or plant oils Research also suggests that including adequate quantities of Omega 3s and 6s in our diet can protect against heart disease.
