This unique formulation features a proprietary pomegranate extract from organically grown pomegranates, standardised for punicalagins, and featuring a polyphenol profile exactly the same as that found in fresh pomegranates. Also featured in the formula are folic acid and the amino acid, L-Arginine.
Punicalagins, found exclusively in Pomegranates, are thought to be primarily responsible for their potent antioxidant power, but their bioactivity is not completely explained by the presence of these compounds. In fact, there is a wide spectrum of antioxidants found in pomegranates, which is thought to contribute to their potent free radical scavenging power, and makes them especially valuable in the maintenance of the cardiovascular system. The formulation also contains folic acid, an important member of the B-Complex family of vitamins that is important in maintaining low levels of homocysteine, a by-product of the amino acid methionine that is thought to damage the walls of blood vessels. L-Arginine is required for the synthesis of an important compound called nitric oxide, which helps promote vascular tone and support vascular health. A combination of proprietary pomegranate extract with folic acid and L-Arginine provides synergistic properties that may be of value for those looking to maintain optimal heart and vascular function.
