With natural mixed carotenoids is micellised by the unique Microcell process to enhance absorption and improve bio-availability. The key to efficient carotenoid activity is the importance of consuming a combination of natural carotenoids, in particular, lycopene. Lycopene is an unsaturated carotenoid pigment which imparts the red colour in fruits and vegetables and is similar in composition to beta carotene. Lycopene is more readily absorbed from the intestinal tract as a micelle in the presence of mono unsaturated oils such as olive oils as found in the Mediterranean diet.
