What are Lycopene tablets?
Lycopene is a member of the carotenoid family with powerful antioxidant properties. It is found in red fruits such as watermelon, guava and pink grapefruit and gives the rich red colour to tomatoes. In humans, it is one of the most abundant carotenoids utilised in blood serum and body tissue and is a more potent antioxidant than other major dietary carotenoids.

What are Lycopene tablets for?
Lycopene is described as a powerful antioxidant, as it helps prevent free radical damage that can lead to many types of diseases. The antioxidant activity of Lycopene is at least twice as great as beta carotene, another carotenoid that is also thought to be an effective cancer-preventing nutrient. Lycopene is considered one of the more effective antioxidants because it is not converted to vitamin A after it is eaten which is good. As a conversion to vitamin A weakens its antioxidant properties.

When should I take Lycopene tablets?
When we are exposed to cigarette smoke, excessive sunlight and toxins and air and water our body naturally makes free radicals, which are the molecules that can damage the cells in our body leading to disease and illness.
