Omega 3 capsules: Capsule Shell (Gelatin and Glycerin). Take one multivitamin and mineral tablet per day, plus one Omega 3 capsule.
Key Ingredients:
Folic acid - This is to reduce the risk of neural tube defects, and folic acid is also believed to play an important role in achieving a healthy conception.
B vitamins - Supplementation and intake level of B vitamins has been positively associated with a reduced risk of ovulatory infertility.
Vitamin C and Selenium - Antioxidant status has been linked to luteal phase defects and so the intake of antioxidant nutrients should be supported by supplementation.
Iron - One large study showed that total non-haem iron intake, primarily consumed as supplements, was inversely associated with the risk of infertility in women.
Chromium - This may be important for women attempting to conceive who have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, as this condition is often accompanied with poor blood glucose control.
Omega 3 Fatty Acids - A minimum intake of 200mg per day of DHA during pregnancy was recommended at a European consensus conference in respect of some research that indicates that maternal omega 3 intake may reduce the risk of preterm delivery.
