L-Glutamine is an abundant amino acid found in skeletal muscle. Clearly the human body has a considerable requirement for L-Glutamine as it performs a number of different functions in the body.
Proteins are being built up and broken down continually and Glutamine is a nitrogen donor which plays a pivotal role in the formation of amino acids - the building blocks of proteins.
L-Glutamine supplementation may top up the levels of available free L-Glutamine ready for protein synthesis, when catabolism or muscle breakdown occurs.
