What is Vitamin B6 for?
Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine is part of the B group vitamins and is water-soluble and is required for both mental and physical health. It is excreted within eight hours after ingestion and like the other B vitamins, needs to be replaced by dietary sources or supplements. B6 is actually a group of substances pyridoxine, pyridoxinal and pyridoxamine that are closely related and function together. Good dietary sources of vitamin B6 include chicken, turkey, tuna, salmon, shrimp, beef liver, lentils, soybeans, eggs, brewers yeast, nuts, avocados, bananas, carrots, brown rice, bran, sunflower seeds, wheat germ, and whole-grain flour.
When should I take Vitamin B6?
Vitamin B6 is best to be taken in times of additional stress and hormonal change to help the body cope better.
