Fibrecleanse
Prunes, Fig and Date Concentrates. Views vary as to what constitutes irregularity but most now agree that anyone who passes hard stools and does so less than three times a week is considered to be irregular. The most common cause of this problem is a low intake of fibre. Whilst our Department of Health recommends 18 to 20g of fibre per day, we typically only eat 8 to 10g.
Prunes, figs and dates are all fruits that have traditionally been used to increase the intake of fibre in the diet. So here we have concentrated all three to provide a tasty natural blend and added a special natural soluble fibre called FOS that has been extracted from chicory roots. FOS is known to act as a prebiotic, which encourages the friendly bacteria in the bowel to flourish and this can help maintain regularity by gently stimulating the bowel wall. Just 10ml (2 teaspoons) provides over 5 grams of soluble fibre and we think you will find Liquid Fibrecleanse® an invaluable product for your practice for those requiring a convenient way to increase the level of fibre in their diet. Not only is it easy to use but pleasant to taste and appropriate for those 5 years and over.

Children 5 to 15 years: take 5-10ml (1-2 teaspoons) daily. Adults: take an initial dose of 10ml (2 teaspoons) daily, for the first 3 days and then a full dose of 20ml (4 teaspoons) daily for a least 2 weeks. A maintenance dose of 10-20ml (2-4 teaspoons) can then be taken.
Take as above or as directed by a practitioner or pharmacist. Do not exceed recommended daily dose.
Shake well before use. Food supplements should not be a substitute for a varied diet. An inadequate fluid intake is a also a prime cause of irregularity – approximately 1.5 litres of fluid a day is needed to supply sufficient water for the digestive system to keep waste matter soft and bulky. Any less than this is likely to lead to dry and hard faeces that are difficult to pass. Patients on Fibrecleanse® should drink at least 1.5 litres of fluids per day.
