Catarrh Mixture is a herbal remedy traditionally used to relieve the symptoms of catarrh from the nose and throat. Boneset and Hyssop help clear catarrh from the nasal and throat area. Boneset also helps fight infections by stimulating the immune system.
Ingredients: Also contains Chloroform Spirit, Methyl Hydroxybenzoate, Tincture of Capsicum, Caramel, Glycerin and water.
Nutritional: Active ingredients per 5ml: Liquid Extract Boneset (1:1, 21% alcohol) 0.6ml, Liquid Extract Blue Flag (1:1, 37% alcohol) 0.05ml, Liquid Extract Burdock Root (1:1, 21% alcohol) 0.25ml, Liquid Extract Hyssop (1:1, 21% alcohol) 0.35ml.
Directions: Adults 1 teaspoon (5ml) 3 times a day. Children over 7 years 1 teaspoon (5ml) twice a day (morning and evening).
Health Warnings: Ask your doctor before taking this product if you have reacted badly to any of the ingredients. Do not use this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not give this product to children under 7 years. Hydroxybenzoate preservatives are known to cause itch, generally delayed type reactions, such as contact dermatitis in a few cases. Rarely thee is immediate reaction with itch and chest tightness. Glycerin - harmful in high doses, when it can cause headache, stomach upset and diarrhoea.
