Also known as Castor Bean and Palma Christi, Castor Oil has been used therapeutically in ancient India, China, Persia, Egypt, Africa, Greece, Rome, America and in 17th century Europe. Today it is used as an emollient and skin softener, treatment of gastrointestinal problems, lacerations and other skin disorders such as psoriasis and can be found in many skin care products.
The seeds of the plant contain alkaloid ricinine and toxalbumin ricin. They yield a fixed oil, which is used chiefly for medicinal purposes, both internally and externally. The glycerides of ricinoleic acid in castor oil are mainly responsible for its purgative effect and therefore it acts as a laxative by stimulating both the large and small intestines and can help guard against intestinal inflammation and worms.
What are Castroclean capsules for?

Almost 90% of its fatty acid content consists of ricinoleic acid and such a high concentration of this unusual, unsaturated fatty acid is thought to be responsible for castor oil's healing abilities. It helps to reduce irritation of the skin and helps alleviate swelling and pain. Castor oil massaged over the breast after child-birth may help to increase the flow of milk, as it may help stimulate the mammary glands. Massaged over the body before a bath, castor oil helps keep the skin healthy and imparts sound sleep. Applied over hand and feet before going to bed helps keep them soft and similarly over the eyebrows and eyelashes helps keep them well-groomed.
