This is a combination nutritional supplement containing the antioxidant related substances vitamin A, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium and zinc, together with the essential fatty acids gamma linolenic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid and dodecahexanoic acid. This supplement is formulated for athletes and active people, to help protect muscle tissues from exercise induced stress. Individuals undergoing strenuous physical exercise, as a result of increased oxygen consumption, produce increased levels of damaging free radicals, particularly in the skeletal muscle tissues. These free radicals interfere with the ability of muscle to contract, contributing to muscle fatigue, as well as damaging the muscle tissues itself.
In addition, strenuous and repetitive movements activate an inflammatory response, which can also result in oxidative damage to muscle tissues induced by free radicals; these are released by infiltrating inflammatory cells attached to the site of injury. The various antioxidant related substances incorporated into this supplement counter the damaging effects of exercise-induced free radical production. In addition, the omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids present in this supplement are precursors of beneficial eicosanoids, which have a modulating effect on inflammation.
Ingredients: Borage seed oil (Borage officinalis L.), Fish oil preparation, Gelatine, Glycerol, Zinc (as Zinc gluconate), Vitamin C (as Ascorbic acid), Microcrystalline cellulose, Maltodextrin, Vitamin E (as d-a-tocopherol acetate prep.), selenium (as L-selenomethionine), Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, talc, Silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, Iron oxide, titanium dioxide, Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine hydrochloride), Corn protein.
Nutritional: Each tablet in Bio-Sport contains 750microgm vitamin A, 1.6mg Vitamin B6, 90mg Vitamin C, 15mg Vitamin E, 100microgm selenium and 15mg zinc. Each capsule comprises 670mg GLA, 260mg DHA and 372mg EPA.
Directions: 8 capsules and 1 tablet daily. The capsules should be swallowed whole. To be taken with food. It is recommended to take the stated dose for a period of at least 30 days.
Health Warnings: Diabetics and those taking anti-coagulant medication should consult with a physician before taking Bio-Sport. Should not be taken by epileptics being treated with anti-convulsing medication. Pregnant or lactating women and those on medication should consult a doctor before taking nutritional supplements. Discontinue use if adverse reactions occur.
