Extract of maritime pine bark (Pinus maritima). Source of Proanthrocyanidins, chemical substances belonging to one of the most beneficial group of plant flavonoids. Antioxidant activity approximately 50 times stronger than vitamin C, and 30 times that of vitamin E. Strong antioxidant activity can protect both the aqueous (water) and lipid (fat) areas of cells from damage by free radicals. Free radicals are chemicals which are created by our own metabolism as well as from environmental factors such as smoking, air pollution, UV light exposure etc. Decreases the permeability and fragility of capillaries and inhibit the development of venous insufficiency, varicose veins and diabetic retinopathy. Inhibits the development of atherosclerosis by preventing oxidation (rancidity) of cholesterol. Helps to maintain the strength, flexibility and suppleness of the skin.
